Carolyn Walsh Parry, Esq.
I have more than 15 years of experience as a civil litigator and trial attorney. From 1997 to 2005, I successfully represented construction companies and building owners in labor law and defect cases. In 2005, I moved to AIG and handled large-scale environmental claims and was then a Director in their Litigation Management department. However, I developed a keen interest in family law after having the opportunity to work on several Hague Convention (international child abduction) cases. In January 2011, I transitioned into family and matrimonial law when I began working with prominent New York City based matrimonial attorney Bernard G. Post, Esq. I have both a professional and personal association with family and matrimonial law, and will use my unique perspective to help resolve your dispute with determination and fairness.
Jeni Dodd, Esq.
Ms. Dodd began her legal career in corporate litigation in New York City working on complex litigation cases such as the Enron, pharmaceutical and gun litigations. Wanting a better work/life balance, Ms. Dodd began a small practice of trusts and estates while founding a tea company focusing on high-end, handcrafted teas from Nepal.
Ms. Dodd expanded her legal practice to include surrogacy law when New York enacted the Child-Parent Safety Act (“CPSA”) legalizing gestational surrogacy. She had always had an interest in reproductive rights and technology, so New York’s innovative legislation now gave her the means to help people legally make a family where there once had been no hope.
Ms. Dodd now utilizes her unique skill set from corporate litigation, entrepreneurship, and negotiations to create families, redefine families, and maintain families.
Throughout every aspect, she works from a philosophy of “firm but fair” because she knows that whatever decisions are made at each of these legal junctures, the implications for her clients are real and lifelong – the relationships will exist long after the legal work is completed.
Born and raised in America’s heartland, Ms. Dodd graduated from Kansas University Law School and clerked for Judge Michael Malone. She is a member of the ABA’s Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) committee and the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law section. True to her roots, Jeni remains an avid Kansas Jayhawk basketball fan.
Family ties are thought to be the most private and enduring relationships in society. As most can attest, however, these relationships are rarely free from conflict. When domestic issues cannot be solved within the home, family law seeks to restore order and provide a fair resolution for all parties involved. For many, family law is thought to be synonymous with divorce proceedings. In reality, divorce is just a small part of family law which covers a broad array of domestic issues including premarital agreements, post marital agreements, separation agreements, co-habitation agreements, negotiations, settlements and child support issues.
