Collaborative Divorce

Dissolving a marriage and negotiating a mutually beneficial resolution can seem daunting, especially in such an emotionally fraught time. To help deal with the overwhelming circumstances, you should know that there are several options at your disposal. One of which is a Collaborative Divorce.

Collaborative Divorce is a low conflict and out-of-court divorce process that involves a multi-disciplinary approach, where specialized collaborative attorneys ensure that your case is resolved without court intervention. Also, collaborative attorneys can team up with mental health and/or financial professionals to resolve your issues more quickly, discretely, and economically. The process focuses on cooperation and mutual respect rather than blame and confrontation. This significantly reduces emotional trauma and is highly beneficial for co-parenting after the divorce.

In the Collaborative Divorce process, the certified collaborative attorneys state in writing that they will use their best effort to resolve the divorce matter without ever going to court. If that cannot be achieved, then the attorneys must recuse themselves from the case and the parties will retain new attorneys who will litigate the case in court. This ensures that everyone is motivated to reach an amicable and out-of-court settlement.
